Hi Riverdalians π
I hope you have been enjoying your summer vacation from the Royals! The Board is very excited to welcome you all to a new season this fall. In preparation for registration opening next week, we would like to provide some background and insight on our budget for this year and how that impacts your fees.
Each year, your registration fees help fund three core functions of our operations: ice fees, year-end prizes, and the anticipated costs of our banquet dinner which also serves as the AGM for our league. As you can see from the pie chart below, most of your past season fees went towards ice time.
Β
The first step in these changes this year will result in a 22.5% increase in ice fees. As a result, our membership fee will increase from $420 to $500 per member (an increase of $80 or 19%). Our 5th/alternate fee will be $125 per member.
Our aim as a not-for-profit club is to break even on fee revenue and fund any additional socials, coaching, and/or events from our reserve or fundraising efforts. We hope this year to increase our fundraising efforts and find additional sponsorship opportunities to offset future increases and continue to invest in our member benefits and events.
If you have any questions, or if cost is a barrier to your continued participation in the sport, please feel free to reach out to discuss.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the social this Sunday βοΈ
Hurry hard!
