Riverdale AGM Announcement and Registration – Banquet reply required!

Hello everyone,

A few administrative items and some reminders as we approach the end of the 2025-26 season! Please read carefully as there is important information on our AGM, elections, the year-end banquet, and playoff eligibility rules.

A Reminder on Conduct:

As the final games of the season and playoffs get more heated, a reminder that Riverdale’s goal is a β€œsafe and non-discriminatory atmosphere” (Riverdale Constitution) and a place which is β€œsafe and welcoming for everyone” (Riverdale Code of Conduct). Racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, or Islamophobia β€” any bigotry or hatred β€” is contrary to our Code of Conduct, and not welcome on or off the ice. We understand that hurtful and inappropriate comments of this nature targeting our fellow members have recently been heard at the club, and there is no place for this type of behaviour in Riverdale. Check out our Code of Conduct (By-Law G) to learn how to report any concerns.

Annual General Meeting Notice:

Please be advised that the Riverdale Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place during our year-end banquet at Fantasy Farm on April 19, 2026. Fantasy Farm is located in the Don Valley on Pottery Road (just north of the Danforth off of Broadview). Accompanying the AGM will be a three-course meal, free drink + free soft drinks, juice, tea/coffee for every attendee. Complimentary transportation to Fantasy Farm from the club, and from Fantasy Farm to Pegasus, will be available.

Executive Elections – Nomination Period Update:

The election nomination period for the 2026-27 executive will run from March 17th to April 5th. You will find the nomination form on our website at this link: https://toronto.pridecurl.ca/executive-committee-nominations/

As a reminder, current positions on the executive are:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Drawmaster
  • External Relations
  • Member Relations
  • Events Coordinator
  • Webmaster

Elections for executive positions will be held at our AGM. If only one person puts their name forward for any position, that position will be acclaimed at the AGM. If no one puts their name forward for a position, the new executive will find an appointee for the position or determine if the responsibilities can be shared among those on the new executive.

See our league constitution and our bylaws for more information on the responsibilities of each position, or talk to any member of the Executive.

Year-End Banquet Information:

At Fantasy Farm, we will have a three-course meal, one free alcoholic drink, and also free soft drinks, juice, tea/coffee for every attendee. Complimentary transportation to Fantasy Farm from the club, and from Fantasy Farm to Pegasus, will be available.

To register, please complete the form here by the end of Wednesday, April 1st so that we can properly plan for meals and transportation. Without registration, you will not be able to join the banquet. If you wish to attend the AGM but not have a meal, please email us at riverdale@pridecurl.ca.

As of now, the banquet is only open to members. Once registration is closed, if there are any available spots, we will open them for guests.

Following the banquet and AGM, we will continue the celebrations at our sponsor, Pegasus, for our after party.

Update Team List/Playoff Information:

As playoffs approach, please review the Team List and ensure that if there have been any changes to your team over the past year they are reflected on the list.Β

Spare rules during playoffs are stricter than during the regular season – all spares must be registered as league members or fifth players. Spares on the regular season spare list who are not members or fifth players are not eligible to spare during playoffs.

If you need to add a new team member for playoffs, they must complete their waivers and pay the $137.50 fifth player fee. Please also email riverdale@pridecurl.ca to confirm which team the player is being added to.

Please inform the league of any changes to your team lineup and make any required payments by March 31st at the latest to ensure new players can register for the banquet.

Playoffs will be April 18-19, with your division based on the aggregate standings following the last game of the regular season on April 12. The team in the top position in each division will have a bye to the semi-finals, while the remaining teams will play in the quarter finals. Finals will be held on April 19, followed by our year-end banquet and AGM. The schedule is available on the Riverdale website – as in previous years, note the slightly later start time for the 3rd draw of the day on Saturday!

That’s all for now – if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of the executive!
