Hello Riverdale,
While we hope everyone is enjoying summer, we invite you to start thinking about next season. Please find information below about Registration, our Summer Social, and CPCC Playdowns.
Summer Social
Weβll be holding our Summer Social on Sunday, August 10 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Pegasus On Church. Weβll have some space at the back where you can play games and socialize. Our Executive Team will be happy to match you to prospective teammates if youβre looking for a player or even just want an introduction to someone cute. You may also contact Patrick Tackney by email at riverdale@pridecurl.ca for assistance in getting onto a team.
Having a team outing? Muse Bistro + Bar is offering an amazing special 2-course meal (menu attached) that includes wine. Click on the link to book your reservation.
Registration will be open to teams and individuals on Tuesday, August 5th at 6 p.m. We will begin filling the league on Tuesday, August 12 at 6 p.m., using the same priority system as in previous years. If there is still space available in the league after this, teams will continue to be added once three players have completed their waivers.
The process will be similar to last year. The league will send everyone a link to the Riverdale Waiver and Contact Information Form. This should be forwarded by Skips to any new or existing team members for them to register if they aren’t already on our mailing list.
Teams will be prioritized for acceptance into the league based on the number of returning members, then the timestamp of the third playerβs waiver received from your team. That is, once three of your teammates have completed their Waiver and Contact Information Form, your team will be prioritized for acceptance into the league. Make a plan to ensure your team submits their waivers as soon as possible!
Fees for the 2025-26 season are still being finalized by the Executive as we face another increase in ice fees from Royals. We will include fee details in the email containing the link to the Waiver and Contact Information Form. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact riverdale@pridecurl.ca.
CPCC Playdowns
Toronto is hosting the Canadian Pride Curling Championships this year alongside Do It On The Ice from March 4 to 8, 2026. As we are anticipating increased interest this year, registration for CPCC Playdowns will open concurrently with Riverdale’s registration on August 4 and close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 19 (the first Sunday of the season). Further details will be provided following registration closing, but participants should note that it is likely that we will need to find ice time at other clubs within Toronto between November and February to run the playdowns process as ice availability at the Royals is limited.
Please email external@pridecurl.ca to register or if you have any CPCC Playdown questions.
That’s all for now, hope to see you on August 10th!

President, Riverdale Curling League
