Sadly, we have disappointing news to share – the Board of Directors of the Royals has decided to close for what would have been the remainder of the 2020-21 season due to COVID. Although this is unfortunate, we always knew this would be a possibility, and the health and safety of our members is the most important consideration. Both the Riverdale Executive and the Royals Board worked tirelessly to make curling happen safely this season, and it is now clear that that just will not be possible.
We will have more information once the Executive is able to meet and sort out next steps, but we wanted to let you know as soon as we knew. First on the agenda will be discussing options for refunds, including options for supporting the Royals as they work to get their financial situation in order now that the season has been cancelled.
More information will be available once we have had a chance to work through all the details, but in the meantime, feel free to reach out to any member of the executive with questions.
